Product Description
Bethel Music presents The War is Over, the debut solo album from worship leader and songwriter Josh Baldwin. The War is Over marks Baldwins first release with Bethel Music and his third career release following his last album Rivers (2014). In 2015, Josh and his family made the cross-country move from North Carolina to California, and this project reflects synonymous themes of taking an appointed journey into the unknown, motivated by the hope of promises that lie ahead. The project thoughtfully blends sonic elements that reflect Josh's southern roots and where he is planted now. The record as a whole highlights Jesus victory over pain and death evident in striking lyrics such as, "Its already been done/you can't add to His blood" from the track "Endlessly". The project's title track is a moving ballad that turns attention away from strife toward the Prince of Peace. Like a seasoned storyteller, Baldwin sings of a wrestling yet yielded heart in Abraham. Contagious with celebration, "Get Your Hopes Up" is an anthem anchored in His ever-present goodness. The War is Over invites worshippers on a journey into the reality that resurrection life was not meant to be experienced alone, but as a family.
